ECREC

European Center for Researching, Education and Consulting (ECREC) is a non-profit organization established in Netherlands, on August 2021. ECREC collaborate with experts in the field of sustainability, circular economy, and other related fields to promote sustainable development at regional, national and international level in accordance with modern sustainable development standards.

The staff of the organization comes from sustainability, education and entrepreneurship backgrounds where innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability are the key themes of our work. Our aim is to capitalize the project by collaborating with young people, cities, private sector, universities.

Our core themes are green energy, climate and decarbonization, circular economy and agriculture. As we believe in three pillars of sustainable development, we aim to promote our core areas by bringing innovation and entrepreneurship as catalysator for development.

We want to achieve the vision of our organization through:

  • Empowering young people: We produce innovative tools and information/forma methods to empower and engage young people/communities in our key areas through training programs, mentoring/coaching and hands-on experience.
  • Support cities: We aim to support cities in researching through producing quantitative data for development of roadmaps in climate mitigation (carbon emission reduction, testing of green technologies), adaptation (natural based solutions), capacity building of main staff.
  • Collaborate with research institutes and universities: We aim to advise and collaborate with specialized institutes and universities in producing relevant data and research documents. Furthermore, we aim to capitalize the findings and transfer the information to the local communities.

I am motivated researcher with 10 years’ experience in climate change and energy. I have a bachelor in Environmental Engineering and a Master in Urban Management and Development from Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Since after my graduation I have been working extensively with projects in developing countries mainly in Western Balkans. My expertise is to link the innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability in the context of European and non-European Countries.

I have the motivation and eager to contribute in the development of different projects starting from the scratch and working with diverse stakeholders (public authorities, universities, NGOs, local communities (vulnerable communities).
Willem van Deursen

Senior Advisor on Water Management and Climate Adaptation
I am convinced that water management seldom deals with isolated water issues, but always involves societal challenges and problems as well. Only by considering this broad societal context, strategies to improve the situation can be developed.

My expertise is to combine expert knowledge of hydrology, physical geography and integrated regional planning (domain knowledge), water management and hydrology (context) and the geo-hydro ICT tools (technology).

I have a strong focus is on future water management challenges: adaptation strategies for a fast-changing context: global change and climate change adaptation. All based on a long and in-depth experience with analyzing interactions between water management issues and related socio-economic issues, supported by a strong analytical and modeling background.

My professional network includes international organizations for hydrology and water management: Deltares The Netherlands; AIT, Bangkok, Thailand; TNO, The Netherlands; VITO Belgium; Institute of Hydrology Wallingford UK; and university groups in Utrecht, Delft, Rotterdam and Wageningen The Netherlands, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, Mehran University, Pakistan; BUET University and Khulna University, Bangladesh.
